ALL RECIPES
This is by far our favorite chicken recipe! We meal prep on Sundays and eat this chicken throughout the week.
Local, organic, non-gmo corn is a crowd favorite at our house, it is the perfect side to any barbecue dinners. All of the spices and ingredients that make this corn so delicious are probably already in your spice cabinet. You are really going to like this!
Who doesn't love chicken noodle soup to heal the soul and body?! We have an easy recipe that will comfort you and give you some goodness at the same time. It is so easy, and the ingredients are real whole foods. MANGIA!
Treat a treat as a TREAT! Yes, these are MUCH better than diving head first into a bag of peanut butter cups, but no they should not be eaten in handfuls. Let this satisfy your need for something sweet, but don't go ham on it! PSA over. These are so so so so so so yummy!
We have been playing around with some type of healthy energy/snack bar for a while, but it was important for us to find something that didn't have any sugar added...most importantly that the berries/fruit didn't have sugar...it took a friend sharing a Paleo cookie recipe with us that inspired us to tweak and make it into bars and next thing you know the "nuts and bolts" bar was born. This is a great bar to eat pre-workout, as a healthy snack during the day or even as a dessert. Enjoy!
If you know us, you know we love Cappellos and everything they create. We especially love their lasagna sheets...and have been known to cut them into chip size pieces and bake them (to dip in stuff). One day we thought to ourselves, "what else could we take these sheets of joy and turn them into?"...then it hit us - "MINI PIES"! Thus was born our wee peach pie recipe. Enjoy!
This recipe is so easy a baby could do it... legit, can't mess it up. We just love the flavor combinations and any time we have an excuse to use Turmeric we are IN! Do you know the benefits of turmeric?! It is anti-inflammatory brain medicine that has been said to keep alzheimer's at away. Turmeric also helps fight body wide infection, supports joint and heart health.. the list goes on and on. Do yourself a favor and sprinkle a little turmeric in on and around everything you eat today!
Want to add a little protein to your breakfast? Here is the perfect recipe to get you going in the morning, or pack it for lunch to keep you full longer. This meal is loved by every member of our family, it is so easy to make and delicious!
Tis the season to pick, eat, and bake apples... but it is not the season to feel like a ton of bricks after eating said apples. We have baked this recipe thousands of times to get it perfect for you, and because we wanted an excuse to keep eating it ;) We have finally perfected it and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
We French Press our coffee every morning and we usually do 8 cups, so this recipe is enough for 2 buttered almond LA LA latte's. If you are making this for one, just half everything!
We love ranch dressing...I repeat WE LOVE RANCH DRESSING! But, the ranch dressing found in stores, on salad bars and served in restaurants is filled with junk oils, preservatives and other random ingredients...remember, if you aren't sure what an ingredient actually is you shouldn't eat it. As you can see below this recipe is a small number of whole/simple ingredients. We use this with our Paleo Buffalo Wings, as a dip for veggies and more. And you can store it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks...that is if you don't use it all before then ;) Enjoy!
Brownies are for winners! We hope you love this recipe as much as we do. Super easy and minimal ingredients, the hardest part is waiting for them to cook!
Take your Taco Tuesday to a whole nutha level!!! A few major tips to making some insane tacos: #1 start with some grass-fed ground beef (quality does matter here) #2 use this taco meat recipe #3 use lettuce wraps instead of tortillas #4 tons of yummy toppings (we recomend skipping the cheese).
We got Buns HUN!!! I would use these sweet potato buns on most things to make a sandwich, they are delicious and super easy to make. If I can do it (BALA here) you can do it.
Beth Anne woke up this morning demanding a dill aioli, because we got fresh dill in our weekly CSA bag. And of course, by the end of the day we were enjoying a delicious garlic and dill aioli on a grass fed short rib burger (pic below). The recipe was so simple and uses our paleo mayo as the base. Try this aioli on salmon or fish, burgers, for dipping veggies, with sweet potato or yuka fries...it is pretty much good on everything.
For the longest time I just cut out mayo all together as even all of the "healthy" options in the store were processed with crap ingerdients. Enter this paleo mayo recipe. It is so easy to make and takes about 5 mins...all you need is a wide mouth ball jar and an immersion blender. Use this mayo as the base for dipping sauces, aioli, on burgers (lettuce bun of course) and so much more. Enjoy!
We love sharing what inspires us with you! A friend of ours is a ridiculous cook who is always experimenting and trying new things to keep her fit family on track. Our core values align on all fronts, and Leezah has so much yumminess to share with all of you, this is only the beginning. You are welcome! Here is a creamsicle recipe that she created using amazing ingredients.
This is our go to meat sauce for all things Italian, we use it in our lasagna (on Cappellos sheets of course), with spaghetti squash, or on some eggplant parmesan. This is an easy sauce minimal ingredients and very little effort, but you will be a kitchen bad A for whipping it up.
If you have not tried spaghetti squash as a pasta substitute, you should. Here is how we cook it, it is super easy and worth the adventure into squash as noodles!!
This recipe is a family favorite, it is so easy to throw together with minimal time, no groceries, and hungry people. We like to keep it simple around here.
This is honestly a fun way to get your protein and lunch in. I love plantains and the texture they have, not matter how we cook them. Here is yet another way you can cook them.
We are always looking for healthy alternatives to fried potato or corn chips...gotta love that crunch! After a few months of tinkering, we have found one of our all time favs. These plantain chips go perfectly with our Meme's Salsa or "That" Guacomole. Enjoy!
Need something new to bring to a get together? Sick of spending $8 on a jar of salsa you don't even really like? This is our favorite salsa, it keeps well in the freezer so you can save some and have it again in a few weeks.
SIDES AND STUFF
New and Improved Paleo Ranch dressing recipe for ya! If you are not an egg eater, look away! Our entire family is obsessed with this recipe! We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

Why are these titled "smack"aroons? Because they are so stinking good you will want to "smack yo mama". These are so simple to make and are the perfect balance of moistness and sweet. If you haven't ever used vanilla bean seeds, you are in for a real treat...they add an amazing depth to the vanilla (and will not include added sugar, which most vanilla extracts do).
Gluten free, grain free, dairy free, vegan, refined sugar free...and tastes like heaven! That doesn't happen often so better hold on to recipe. These are a crowd favorite in our house and when we bring them to parties...even people who don't typically eat Primal or Paleo love them.
BREAKFAST
We have been playing around with some type of healthy energy/snack bar for a while, but it was important for us to find something that didn't have any sugar added...most importantly that the berries/fruit didn't have sugar...it took a friend sharing a Paleo cookie recipe with us that inspired us to tweak and make it into bars and next thing you know the "nuts and bolts" bar was born. One of the biggest complaints we hear from people who are going gluten free is that they will miss all the breads and soft/fluffy textures of "baked goods"...enter this recipe for Sweet Potato Pancakes to shatter this notion. These pancakes are the perfect amount of sweet with an really nice soft texture. They are great for a Sunday morning breakfast...we love to have them during our "breakfast for dinner" nights. Enjoy!
We've gotten really into plantains lately so this is the first of a few great recipes with them. A close friend of ours, Brittany Gonzalez, who owns La Banana Frita has inspired us with her amazing uses of plantains...if you live anywhere near CLE make sure to check her out. One of our favorite plantain dishes is hash browns...they are so quick and easy to make and you can serve with breakfast, lunch or dinner (or as a snack). For this recipe we kept it super simple, but feel free to try different spice/flavor combos to your liking.
These biscuits are called "buttery" because a) they taste like butter and b) they have a lot of butter in them...both of which is a good thing. Obviously, like all things RALABALA, they are gluten-free.
A close friend of ours, Leezah Pratt, shared a version of this recipe with me a while back...I have been tweaking it to get it just the way I like and it's time now to share this with you...and now it's your turn to enjoy and share with your friends!
Sometimes making smoothies can be tough as you have different fruits/veggies available on different days. Making unique and exotic smoothies can fun, but a lot of times you just want a simple smoothie that tastes good and is good for you. That's why I created this simple formula (not recipe) that we follow in our home and add variants depending on what is available.

A lot of people think about eating clean as a "burden" or something that takes away all the good stuff. This recipe directly defies that notion...it has all the taste of those dirty foods, but is a clean and healthy snack. Something about football being on TV that causes us to make these...and we generally deliver on the urge. The interesting thing about them is how simple they are and how few the ingredients are...we have tried making buffalo wings with all kinds of crazy recipes and complicated ingredients, but good old Frank's Red Hot sauce seems to be the one that delivers best (and the ingredients are good to go)...we keep it Paleo by using Coconut oil. Thanks to Dianne "Meme" Morgan for inspiring this recipe!
